NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Union Gap is seeking a replacement to fill vacant Position 5 on the City Council for the term that will expire December 31, 2025. Compensation for the position is $600 per month for services to the City of Union Gap. City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month and Study Session meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of every month at 6:00 p.m. In addition, there may be committee meetings to attend.
Councilmembers are required by law to publicly disclose financial matters by filing a Personal Financial Affairs Statement with the State Public Disclosure Commission.
All applicants are required to be registered voters of the City of Union Gap, and have been a resident of the City for a period of at least one year preceding his/her appointment and hold no other public office or employment under the City government.
Applications for the vacancy are available at Union Gap City Hall located at 102 West Ahtanum Road, Union Gap, WA 98903, the city website at uniongapwa.gov or by emailing Lynette.bisconer@uniongapwa.gov. Completed applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024.
The City Council will interview applicants at 6:00 p.m. or soon thereafter on Monday, December 9, 2024, during the Regular Council meeting.
