Sanitation / Garbage

The Sanitation / Garbage Division’s responsibilities include weekly collection and disposal of residential, commercial and industry refuse, yard waste and recyclables.  Residential and Commercial refuse is hauled to the landfill, which is owned and operated by Yakima County.

The Public Works Department administrates the Solid Waste contract with Basin Disposal Incorporated.  The purpose of the contract is for the removal of solid waste, and for the recycling programs, within the City.
